SOL Review: Overview
SOL tests can be a scary and overwhelming time for most students. There is a lot of information being tested, and a lot of pressure to do well. To help your child be as prepared as possible, review content that has already been learned.
Math SOL Review
Math is a subject that builds as the year progresses. Students are taught concepts in a particular order because they will need that knowledge for the next concept. It is VERY important that your child reviews basic math facts each night. It is extremely essential that multiplication facts are mastered early in the year! Your child should practice at least 15 minutes each night. Students will need to be able to complete a blank multiplication chart this year. Begin practicing by using the attached documents to help get started!

Reading Comprehension SOL Review
Be sure to get back into reading each night as soon as possible! Students should be reading at least 20 minutes per night.
This can be done in several ways:
o Students can read a book on their own
o Students can read a book aloud to someone else (parent or sibling, etc)
o Students can read a book WITH someone else, and alternate pages. This method is extremely useful with a struggling reader.
